I met Derek Wells in April of 2016 when I was recorded my Laughter, Love, Desire, and Pain album at Beaird Music Studio in Nashville. Derek had recently been on the road with Josh Turner. He did a great job playing guitar on my album. Since then I keep hearing his name. First he kept showing up as either a nominee or the winner of the Guitar Player of the Year award. Then on April 5, 2019, at the ACM awards, I heard Kacey Musgraves thank him for his work on her album when she accepted her award. He is an awesome guy and one heck of a guitar player.

Country music act Love and Theft put on a show on December 15, 2018 to show their support for the victims of hurricane Michael. My good friend Stevie Monce https://steviemonce.com/ opened the show for them. Allison and I hung out with all the guys after the show. I sang a little Steve Perry (Journey) "When the Lights Go down in the city" for them and they were very complimentary. It was a lot of fun. Thank you Stephen, Eric, and Stevie for giving all the hurricane victims something to smile about and sing along with.
